Bloom Day, August '14

Cynanchum ascyrifolium, "Cruel Plant"
We got to enjoy a day or so at the Cottage this week.  Amid the weeds are many things I planted, in bloom.
Cruel Plant & Rudbeckia hirta
Coreopsis virticiliata - Thread Leaved Coreopsis
Silphium perfoliatum - Cup Plant
Heliopsis ____
Daylily season continues... I don't have mine labelled, though I do have lists somewhere that tell me the names.

 .

Eryngium ____ & Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight'
Echinops ritro - Globe Thistle
Hydrangea "Invincibelle Spirit"
Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle'
Asclepias incarnata - Swamp Milkweed

Allium  _____

A late, random bloom on Chaenomeles japonica - Flowering Quince
Lilium 'Stargazer'?
Helenium sp. - Sneezeweed, or Helen's Flower
Yeah, that last picture is of a rather obscure plant - at least, to me.  This little thing is blooming in its second year from seed! It is less than two feet high.  A member of the Euphorbia family, it is likely the only woody Euphorb to live outdoors here in Nova Scotia.  Same family as Cushion Spurge, and the Poinsettia, not to mention quite a few succulents that resemble cacti.
Rudbeckia lacinata 'hortensia' - Goldenglow
This is the end of my Cottage shots for this month's Garden Blogger's Bloom Day.  Check out many more blogs at May Dreams Gardens.  :)
